Helpful Hints for Everyday Life

These suggestions can really be useful to you.
I have some helpful hints for you. You don’t have to break the bank to get the things you need for the tips. You can simply use the stuff around the house.
To prevent sty:
This is a tip that I do every day because I used to get sties all of the time. Sties run in my family so this tip helps me.
Fill one or two bowls with hot water. Then soak your eyes with two tea bags for three to five minutes. After you soak your eyes, you have to clean your eyelids and eyelashes. You need Johnson and Johnson Baby Shampoo to do this. Put a drop of the baby shampoo in a Dixie cup. Dilute the shampoo with about ½ cup (Dixie cup) of water. The water could be warm or cold. You will need four cotton swabs (Q-tips). Dip one end of the cotton swab in the baby shampoo and gently wipe your eyelid and eyelashes. You can start with the top or bottom lid. With the dry end of the swab, wipe off the water from your lid and lashes. Repeat this step for the rest of your lids and lashes. You need to soak and clean your eyelids and eyelashes everyday because bacteria get on your eyelids and eyelashes that cause the sties. If you do this tip every day, you shouldn’t get sties anymore.
This is another tip I tried. To reduce dizziness or make them less severe, make a vinegar and honey cocktail.
Mix two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and two teaspoons of honey in a ½ cup of warm water. Drink the cocktail twice a day until the dizziness is gone or lessened. I must warn you that it’s nasty, but it works.
To ease nasal congestion:
When I have nasal congestion, I try this tip. Drink a glass of water with one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar five times during the day to ease the pain and help clear the sinuses. I recommend drinking warm water so you won’t notice the taste of the vinegar as much.
To ease a sore throat:
This remedy may help with the flu too.
Take ¼ cup of honey and ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar. Mix together and take 1 tablespoon every four hours.
Quick pimple cures:
Dab some lemon juice on the pimple. It should dry it up quickly.
Mix a cup of hot water with a ¼ teaspoon of salt and vinegar to the pimple with a cotton ball. The heat opens the pore and the salt tends to draw out the infection.
Rub Vicks Vapor Rub on the pimple with a Q-Tip. This should draw the pimple to a head.
To open a lid:
If you have trouble opening the lid to a jar, put a rubber band on the lid and then twist. The lid will open. This tip might be helpful to you if you have arthritis and have trouble opening jars.
To thread a needle:
If you have trouble threading a needle (I know I used to), wet the eye of the needle instead of the thread. The thread should go through the needle.
To prevent nail polish from thickening:
Keep the nail polish in a cool place. I put it in the refrigerator. It may sound silly, but it keeps the nail polish smooth.
Longer lasting nail polish: Before you put your nail polish on, apply a little vinegar to each nail with a cotton swab.
Quick-drying nail polish: Plunge freshly polished nails into ice-cold water. Be careful when drying your nails.
To remove ballpoint pen ink stains:
Dabbing rubbing alcohol on the stained area may remove the ink.
These are all the tips I have for now. I will write some more tips soon.

I have found a jar key great. No strength required any more to open those pesky jars! http://caroleschatter.blogspot.co.nz/2012/02/useful-kitchen-gadget-jar-key.html
